Some businesses seem to profit from Twitter. I see it more as celebrity entertainment tool which I'm not really interested in. I think it likely appeals more to the younger generation.

I found Librarything useful for recommended reads. It is very user friendly. I will mainly use it for the recommened reads and common information

I checked out google calendars as well as google docs. I think both of these productivity tools will become common place both for private use as well as business and corporate use. They are simple to use and provide for easy real time collaboration and sharing. The fact that these online tools can be accessed from any computer is a real asset and best of all they are free applications.

I found Flickr and YouTube both to be very user friendly. I may use YouTube for videos but will certainly put the security settings on.

I set CNN up as a RSS. It will be useful for current info.

I found Google Finance Portfolio very useful is tracking personal finance information. It is very simple to add, delete, and manage a list of companies that one is interested in. It also provides detailed financial info on the companies that you are tracking. It provides a market summary including world makets and currencies and the Bank of Canada daily digest as well as top business stories and portfolio related news. To use Google Finance sign in with your google account.

I think Facebook will be useful to connect with old friends and family. It will be fun to learn to share photos and video.
